Remote Access Testing

There are two options available to students and it is important that you test connecting to our systems before your training event.  Start by testing the Direct Connection first, review the video below to follow the process of testing a connection.  You will need an IP Address and Port number to make a Direct Connection. If the Direct Connection is blocked by your corporate firewall, try the Secure VPN Connection (option 2) below.

  1. Direct Connection - installation of a VNC viewer / client on your computer (preferred solution). 
    You will need a IP Address and Port Number to make a direct connection.

  1. Secure VPN Connection (Alternative) - ideal when corporate firewalls block Direct Connections (option 1) It is possible to select from an ActiveX control which provides the best performance or a JAVA applet if ActiveX controls are not allowed.  You will need a username and password to logon to our secure VPN.
    1. ActiveX Control - Internet Explorer required
      The best performance is provided through the ActiveX Control
    2. JAVA Applet – If ActiveX controls cannot be used
      Java Run-Time environment is required
